CHICAGO Gold Eagle Co., maker of the brands STA-BIL, HEET and START YOUR ENGINES!, has been named a 2012 recipient of the President’s "E" Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The company received the award during the Department of Commerce’s 50th Annual President’s "E" Award ceremony held on May 17. Secretary of Commerce John Bryson presented the award to Gold Eagle executives.

"This administration is committed to leveling the playing field for American businesses and workers to help U.S. companies build things here and sell them around the world. ‘E’ Awards winners like Gold Eagle Co. have excelled in this effort, demonstrating four years of successive export growth. It is companies like this that are helping to grow our economy and put more Americans back to work."

Gold Eagle Co.’s achievements in utilizing innovative international marketing strategies have led to four years of dynamic export expansion. The company continues to demonstrate its ability to overcome export barriers and currently, sells products in more than 45 countries and on five continents.
The President’s "E" Award was created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. There are four categories of the President’s "E" Awards. This year, 23 companies were honored with the "E" Award for Exports for demonstrating a sustained increase in export sales over several years. U.S. House Representative for Illinois Dan Lipinski recognized Gold Eagle’s Co. award by issuing a congratulatory statement printed in the Congressional Record of May 10, 2012. A total of 41 U.S. companies and organizations were presented with the President’s "E" Award at the May 17, 2012 World Trade Week ceremonies in Washington, D.C.
All nominations are reviewed by the President’s "E" Award Committee, which is chaired by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and includes representatives of EXLM Bank, the Small Business Administration and the Departments of Agriculture, Labor, State and Transportation.
