TROY, Mich. GlobalAutoIndustry.com, an online intelligence resource for the global auto industry, has announced it will host “The European Automotive Aftermarket” online seminar on doing business in European aftermarket. The seminar will be viewable via live webcast.
The one-hour event will feature Dr. John Wormald, a leading expert on the European automotive and aftermarket industry. After the presentation, attendees will be able to ask questions directly to Dr. Wormald via a live, interactive Q&A session.
“The European automotive aftermarket is a huge but often neglected and poorly documented sector. It is a major source of profits for vehicle manufacturers, their franchised dealers and component suppliers. It has also been the subject of controversy and concern on the part of competition authorities in recent years,” said Wormald.
The presentation will offer an overview of European aftermarkets, explaining their structures and how they function. This will cover the OES (franchised dealer) sector; the traditional IAM (independent aftermarket), home of the independent repairers and parts distributors; and the “New Distribution” sector with its chained service and retail formats. The collision market also will be covered.
Wormald also will discuss the financial contribution of the aftermarket, competition issues that result from it, the concerns and actions of regulators, the Block Exemption and the Right to Repair clause and where we stand today. In addition, he will look at potential changes in the short- and long-term and the opportunities that exist for different players and potential new entrants.
Complete agenda and registration for this event, as well as a complete list of upcoming events are available here. The seminar runs from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (EST).
