Bridgestone Americas’ passenger/light truck tire plant in Aiken County, S.C., suffered a temporary shutdown of some of its operations due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
The shutdown occurred late on June 2. There were no injuries.
"As a result of heavy rains in the area, the Bridgestone Americas passenger tire plant in Aiken County, S.C., experienced some flooding,” the company said in a statement to local media. “While a number of processes continue to operate normally, flooding in the plant has caused a shutdown of certain operations."
The company stated that clean-up is well underway, and it expected to be back to full production by end of day, yesterday (June 3).
