Firestone Fibers & Textiles Co. is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The Kings Mountain, N.C.-based company produces nylon and polyester tire cord for Bridgestone Americas tire plants and other non-tire product manufacturers and operates three plants in the U.S. and Canada.
Capping the company’s anniversary celebration was a recent company picnic and celebration with company and community leaders. Held at the Kings Mountain facility, the event included state and local officials and employees and their families.
“This is a great day for our company,” said Tim Dunn, president of Firestone Fibers. “From achieving 1 million safe hours worked to donating tens of thousands of dollars to charitable organizations through the Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund, I am proud of all that our teammates have accomplished and the impact the company has had on the Gaston County and Cleveland County communities. We certainly look forward to a bright future in Gastonia and Kings Mountain.”
