ALPHARETTA, GA — Exide Technologies recently received a silver medal from Defense Supply Center Richmond in recognition of being one of the federal government’s best suppliers. The medal was presented by the commander of the supply center, Navy Rear Adm. Mike Lyden, at an Automated Best Value System award ceremony held earlier this month.
Exide earned the Automated Best Value System award by successfully supplying more than 8,600 orders of military batteries for combat and tactical vehicles and equipment to more than 350 U.S military locations during a 12-month period. Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System medalists have met the stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency.
The Automated Best Value computerized system collects a vendor’s performance data during a 12-month rating period and translates it into a numeric score. Gold medals are awarded to vendors that attain a perfect score of 100; Silver medalists must earn a score of 99.0-99.9. Exide’s Silver medal-winning score was 99.1.
