Equipment and Tool Institute Meets With Japanese Automakers

Twenty-four members of the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) recently traveled to Japan for ETI’s 19th Annual Japan Tech Week. The event, co-supported by ETI and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), included week-long meetings and discussions with representatives from Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, Nissan, Isuzu, Subaru, Hino, and for the first time, Nissan Diesel.

ROCHESTER, MI – Twenty-four members of the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) recently traveled to Japan for ETI’s 19th Annual Japan Tech Week. The event, co-supported by ETI and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), included week-long meetings and discussions with representatives from Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, Nissan, Isuzu, Subaru, Hino, and for the first time, Nissan Diesel.

Japan Tech Week serves as an important link to gaining the technical information necessary for ETI’s members to develop tools and equipment to continue to service Japanese vehicles sold in the United States. Japan Tech Week also provides a platform to strengthen ties with the Japan’s automakers.

As one of the host companies, Mitsubishi welcomed the ETI Group at its Nagoya Assembly Plant for briefings which included important updates and technical information and a tour of the factory.

“We always look forward to the discussions with the OEM’s during Japan Tech Week and the valuable information that is exchanged during these meetings”, said Charlie Gorman, ETI’s executive manager. “As always, we appreciate the opportunity to meet with the Japanese OEM’s and thank them for their cooperation and hospitality.”

Next year’s 20th Annual Japan Tech Week with be held in California as ETI and JAMA look forward to the ongoing exchange of information and working together towards continued cooperation between ETI and Japan’s Automakers.
