Epicor Named Exclusive Technology Vendor for Modern Sales Co-Op

Agreement to assist members in implementing Epicor Eagle system for enhanced business efficiency and online sales growth.

LIVERMORE, Calif. — Epicor Software Corp., which recently merged with Activant Solutions Inc., has been named exclusive technology vendor for Canada’s Modern Sales Co-Op (MSC), a 178-member distribution network serving the automotive, marine, industrial and allied markets.

Through this new agreement, Epicor will assist MSC member/owners in implementing the Epicor Eagle for the Aftermarket business management solution to help enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs and drive eCommerce sales.

MSC also recently invested in Epicor Vision software to help streamline headquarters operations and interface with its new warehouse management system and member-operated business platforms. By upgrading to Epicor’s Eagle solution, network members will have real-time visibility into warehouse stocking levels and be able to electronically place orders. The new systems will also enable members to access updated pricing information and simplify the management of vendor part numbers.

Epicor Eagle for the Aftermarket is the next-generation solution for distributors and jobbers that want a powerful, easy-to-use Microsoft Windows-based platform for store operations, the company says. Epicor notes that the system is well-suited to virtually any business seeking step-change improvements in counter efficiency and productivity as well as a significantly broader range of business analytics. The intuitive user interface dramatically reduces the time necessary for jobber employees to become proficient at the point of sale and in a full range of inventory, reporting and other business management tasks, according to Epicor.

“Our members know and trust Epicor and recognize the company’s solutions as best-in-breed,” said MSC General Manager Perry Shareef. “We view Epicor as a strategic partner that can help our entire organization, including each of our members, achieve very aggressive growth goals.”

As another key operational investment, MSC will exclusively use Epicor’s PartExpert electronic catalog and Microsoft Windows-based LaserCat 3 electronic catalog interface to help enhance speed, efficiency and accuracy at the point of sale. The decision to rely exclusively on eCatalog products from Epicor also provides MSC members and customers a consistent view of all parts, application and interchange information for improved service, according to Shareef.

“MSC’s selection of the Epicor Vision and Eagle systems and the PartExpert and LaserCat 3 eCatalog products was based on extensive research into the experiences of other businesses using these solutions and the organization’s confidence in Epicor as a long-term provider of industry-best services,” said Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president for Epicor. “We are already working closely with MSC’s member/owners in targeting aggressive growth and efficiency goals.”
