EnerSys Achieves Approved Vendor Status For JIT Truck Parts

JIT Truck Parts is a distributor of heavy duty aftermarket parts.

EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications and the manufacturer of ODYSSEY batteries, recently achieved approved vendor status with JIT Truck Parts. Launched in 2010 and headquartered in Highland Park, Illinois, JIT Truck Parts is a distributor of heavy duty aftermarket parts. With distribution centers throughout the United States, its main locations are in Louisville, Kentucky; Reno, Nevada; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. 

Manufactured with proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, the plates used in the construction of ODYSSEY batteries are made thinner, allowing for more to fit in the battery. Their rugged construction and non-spillable dry cell design protect against high impact shock and mechanical vibration, two common causes of battery failure. Additionally, ODYSSEY batteries provide deep cycle reserve power and maximum cranking power, with engine cranking pulses up to 2,700 amps for five seconds, which is double to triple that of equally sized conventional flooded lead acid batteries, said the company. 

“The heavy duty commercial fleet market continues to demand high-performance batteries that can withstand the rigors of over-the-road travel. Our partnership with JIT Truck Parts and its distribution centers allows us to provide them with access to our portfolio of premium ODYSSEY batteries to meet this ever-growing industry demand,” said Tom Rafferty, national account manager at EnerSys. “Uniquely engineered to handle the increased use of onboard accessories in today’s high-end vehicles, ODYSSEY batteries are virtually maintenance-free power solutions that can help provide heavy duty fleet managers with a lower total cost of ownership.”

ODYSSEY batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and a two-year storage life at 77°F (25°C). They are vibration and shock resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a limited three-year full replacement warranty.
