Elgin PRO-STOCK Introduces Black Ice Cryogenically Treated Performance Engine Components

Precisely controlled super-cryogenic and tempering processes significantly increase component stability, wear resistance, says Elgin.

ELGIN, Ill. — Elgin Industries, a leading manufacturer of internal components for engines, has introduced a broad new line of highly advanced performance parts featuring super-cryogenic and tempering treatments, which the company says can significantly increase component stability and wear resistance.

New Elgin PRO-STOCK Black Ice engine parts, now available through leading engine parts distributors and retailers, provide an array of track-proven advantages unavailable through any other production performance products:

•    Maximum attainable hardness from heat-treated base material
•    Maximum material and geometric stability and uniformity
•    Maximum wear resistance
•    Elimination of material stresses and mass changes

The new Black Ice product line includes a wide range of precision-engineered components for North America’s most popular performance engines. These parts include: camshafts, push rods, rocker arms, valve springs, valves, timing sets, rocker arm studs and retainers.

“Black Ice is one of the most innovative and marketable new technologies to be introduced to the performance engine category in several years,” said Rick Simko, national sales and marketing manager, Elgin Industries. “Performance distributors, retailers and engine professionals can now provide their customers with a proven advantage and superior bottom-line value in the form of components that have been cryogenically optimized for high-output applications.”

The Elgin Black Ice product line is being supported with an international brand marketing campaign targeting performance enthusiasts and engine builders.
