The Pro-Stock brand of Elgin Industries has introduced high-strength, chrome-moly-steel valve spring retainers engineered to accommodate the higher spring pressures found in performance-enhanced Chrysler 5.7L Hemi engines.
The new Elgin Pro-Stock retainers (#ER-4007), designed for use with beehive and conical springs, ensure positive location under peak spring pressures and valvetrain RPMs, the company said. Each spring is manufactured from lead-free SAE 4140 chrome-moly material for strength and longevity. A high-performance black oxide coating provides corrosion protection and an improved appearance.
The following are additional specifications of these premium-quality retainers:
- Elgin No.: ER-4007
- Lock Angle: 7˚
- Valve Stem Size: Stock
- Spring Diameter: 1.055”
“We continue to invest in new technologies and enhanced materials that enable customers to produce greater power and durability with today’s most popular engines,” said Rick Simko, national sales and marketing manager, Elgin Industries. “Our new retainers, like hundreds of other Elgin Pro-Stock parts, help engine builders and performance enthusiasts unlock the untapped horsepower available in a high-performance valvetrain.”
