Elgin Offers New OE-Design Lifter And Guide Sets

The new range is available for General Motors LS Series engines.

Elgin Industries, an original equipment and aftermarket supplier of complete engine valvetrain systems and components, has introduced genuine original equipment Elgin PRO-STOCK valve lifter and guide sets for a broad range of General Motors LS Series engines.

Now available through leading engine parts distributors, Elgin PRO-STOCK lifter and guide sets are available for engines with or without GM’s Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology. The sets are not designed for use in engines featuring Dynamic Fuel Management, or Dynamic Skip Fire, technology.

Elgin PRO-STOCK HLG-7026FRA AFM Lifter/Guide Sets include two front and two rear guides along with eight LS7 style lifters and eight AFM lifters. The LS7 style lifters can be used in a variety of other LS engine applications. All components are identical to GM original equipment parts.

Elgin PRO-STOCK HLG-2148FRA LS7Lifter/Guide Sets include four lifter guides and 16 LS7 style lifters. These sets also can be used in engines equipped with an AFM delete kit.

AFM technology utilizes a valve lifter oil manifold (VLOM) to deactivate the intake and exhaust valve lifters on cylinders 1, 4, 6 and 7 for increased fuel economy under certain operating conditions. The lifters used on these cylinders are taller and feature special oil holes. It is important that new guides be used when changing lifters due to degradation of the guides’ polymer material, according to Elgin.
