Elgin, Ill. — Elgin Industries, a manufacturer of engine and chassis components for passenger vehicles and medium- and heavy-duty applications, has received the Jasper Engines & Transmissions “Preferred Partner” Award for the seventh consecutive year. The award was presented during Jasper’s annual Preferred Partners Banquet on March 19 in Jasper, Ind.

Elgin, which manufactures a broad range of components used in Jasper gasoline and diesel engines, was one of only a handful of suppliers identified as the company’s “Partners in Success.” Recipients of the 2007 Preferred Partner Award were nominated by individuals within Jasper’s purchasing, quality, manufacturing and/or payables divisions and judged on product quality, service, fill rate, response time to a problem, billing and credit procedures and other criteria.

“Winning the Jasper Preferred Partner Award is one of the most important goals we set for ourselves every year,” said Elgin Industries President Bill Skok. “The award criteria cover the fundamental elements of a true business partnership. Our ability to meet these strict benchmarks contributes not only to Jasper’s success, but also to the bottom-line performance of all of our customers. Everyone in our organization understands that rebuilders and production engine remanufacturers depend on us for more than just engine parts – they need a total package of quality, service and support with each and every transaction.”
