LAS VEGAS — The Dorman Advisory Council gathered Nov. 1 and 2 for its third annual meeting, held at the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo in Las Vegas. The council, which consists of service providers and parts distributors from across the country, helps provide input into all aspects of Dorman’s business.
On the first day of the meeting, the service providers and jobbers met in separate groups so that they could delve into topics specific to their trades. The group then combined on the second day to discuss the topics that pertain to all participants. Some of the topics addressed at the meeting included potential new products, communications and product availability. The Advisory Council is consulted throughout the year on issues such as new product development, marketing promotions and advertising campaigns.
Bill Hanvey, vice president of marketing for Dorman Products, said: "The interaction between the Dorman contributors and council members is thoughtful and honest. It really gets us thinking about how the business is viewed and how we can continue to improve to meet the needs of our customers. The Advisory Council is extremely important to us as we develop our strategic plan and is invaluable as a ‘reality check’ on program execution.”
