TROY, MI — Delphi has collaborated with Activant Solutions to accelerate delivery of its parts data to North American automotive counter positions using a variety of electronic catalogs. Activant also helped Delphi to achieve compliance with the industry’s new ACES enhanced data delivery format by optimizing information workflow and reducing the time it takes to publish.
Updated data on Delphi’s vehicle electronics, heating and cooling components and other replacement parts are now available within 30 to 60 days of file creation through the Activant PartExpert, LaserCat, ShopCat, ePartExpert and Catalyst electronic catalogs.
“It’s Delphi’s goal to be the industry leader in all areas of automotive-related technologies, including the delivery of vital product information to the professionals who sell and install our parts,” said David Barbeau, general director, global sales & marketing for Delphi Product & Service Solutions.
Delphi is close to completing the conversion of its entire catalog of parts data from the AAIA legacy standard to the ACES format through its collaboration with Activant and use of the proven AceMapper data mapping technology. Developed as an industry-sponsored solution to the multiple data standards previously required by electronic catalog firms, ACES can require extensive conversion of legacy data and other structured files.
“It’s our role as a data services and eCatalog provider to help aftermarket manufacturers maximize their selling advantage through accurate product data delivered on time to the more than 60,000 counter positions using an Activant catalog,” said Steve Bieszczat, vice president of information services, Activant Solutions Inc. “Delphi’s data management team made clear its expectation to achieve industry leadership both in ACES compliance and data delivery. We’re very pleased to have played a role in helping them achieve these aggressive goals.”
