Dayco Receives 2 Catalog Excellence Awards During 2016 Knowledge Exchange Conference

Dayco received a Silver Award in the Web Catalog category for its catalog on DaycoProducts.com and a Silver Award in the Mobile App category for its VIN-scanning parts look-up smartphone app.

ACPN_MobileCatalogDayco announced it received two President’s Awards for Catalog Excellence during the 2016 Automotive Content Professionals Network (ACPN) Knowledge Exchange Conference. Dayco received a Silver Award in the Web Catalog category for its catalog on DaycoProducts.com and a Silver Award in the Mobile App category for its VIN-scanning parts look-up smartphone app.

Each year during the Knowledge Exchange conference, the largest gathering of catalog professionals and their vendors and solution partners in North America, ACPN President’s Awards for Catalog Excellence recognize the best examples of printed and electronic cataloging in the auto care industry. Web and mobile applications are evaluated on criteria such as design, navigation, use of technology, innovation, interactivity and quality of content. Paper catalogs are judged on a variety of criteria ranging from compliance with ACPN best practices for page design and construction to readability and technical accuracy.

“Providing our customers with the most up-to-date catalog information continues to be of utmost importance for Dayco,” said Robert Christy, director of marketing for Dayco. “Our Applications and Catalog Research teams continuously add application information to existing part numbers while adding new part numbers to our inventory in order to maintain industry-leading coverage.”

Users of the online catalog at DaycoProducts.com can search for replacement parts by entering vehicle year, make, model and engine; by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN); or by entering the vehicle’s state-registered license plate number. DaycoProducts.com also features parts look up information on every page within the site.

“Dayco was the first company to provide its customers with VIN-scanning and license plate parts look up availability. We were also the first to launch interactive routing guides, a tool that gives even more value to an already useful belt routing guide,” said Sherry Mathis, senior marketing manager for Dayco. “We will continue to seek out innovative ways to provide our customers with information to help them make informed decisions about replacement parts.”

Developed in 2012, and recipient of a President’s Award for Catalog Excellence every year since, the Dayco VIN-scanning parts look-up app gives professional technicians and DIY customers instant access to a complete list of Dayco parts, routings and installation instructions that match a vehicle’s year, make, model and engine by simply scanning the VIN barcode or by entering the vehicle’s state-registered license plate number.
