JACKSONVILLE, Fla. The Board of Directors of the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN) and current President Ken Duval of Canadian Wheel Industries have unveiled a new award that will recognize those distributors and suppliers who have made significant contributions to the association’s two predecessors — the Council of Fleet Specialists (CFS) and the National Wheel and Rim Association (NWRA), which merged to form CVSN in 2006.
In announcing the new award, Duval said, “We are here today because of those who came before us and there is a long list of people who deserve recognition for their contributions to our predecessor associations. This year, it is my honor to formally recognize two families that had a significant impact on CFS and NWRA. O.G. Phillips and son-in-law Larry Smith from Gooch Brake and Equipment Co.; and Gene, Gary and Larry DiSano from Century Wheel & Rim dedicated a tremendous amount of their time and energy for the betterment of independent distributor associations. Their involvement clearly demonstrates the commitment to community and fellowship that are the values at the heart of a strong distributor association like CVSN.”
The first “President’s Recognition Award” will be given out at the CVSN 2008 Annual Business Forum being held this Sept. 21-24 at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colo. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21 during the welcome reception and dinner.
