FINDLAY, OHIO — The Associated Press has reported that Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling some 288,000 passenger and light truck/SUV tires due to concerns over cracking and slow leaks.
The brands and models being recalled, according to the report, include: Cooper Discoverer S/T, Dean Mud Terrain Radial SXT, Durango Radial XTR, Mastercraft Courser C/T, Dick Cepek Radial F-C II, Mesa C/T, Pro Comp Xtreme A/T, Tempra Trailcutter Radial RT, Dean Alpha 365 A/S, Mastercraft A/S, Starfire Flite-line IV and Trendsetter SE.
Cooper is also recalling more than 3,000 Cooper Zeon 2XS and Mastercraft Avenger ZHP tires because of cracking in the sidewall, said the AP.
As of this posting, Cooper has made no statement to the tire industry media.
