FORT MILL, S.C. Continental Tire the Americas says it is now at full operating capacity at its new distribution center in Redlands, Calif. The company held an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the local media and business community on April 15.
Continental took occupancy of the facility earlier in the year in a move that consolidated two smaller operations in Ontario and South Gate, Calif. The Redlands warehouse offers 500,000-square-feet of space situated on a 27.5 acre-plot of land. The facility is now fully operational for Continental’s passenger and commercial tire divisions and features a state-of-the-art operating system to expedite orders.
“We are very pleased to open our doors in an official way,” said Adam Sepanski, warehouse manager, Continental Tire. “We couldn’t have found a better location than right here in Redlands, and we look forward to a long tenure in this outstanding facility.”
The new facility will provide Continental with enough space to store and distribute more than 450,000 passenger, light truck and commercial tires. The facility is expected to move an estimated two million units each year.
