Continental Enhances VDO REDI-Sensor TPMS Program with QR Code

Quick response codes allow instant smart phone access to video, website and parts look up.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, manufacturer and supplier of VDO OE-engineered TPMS replacement parts, has added QR codes (Quick Response) to its breakthrough TPMS technology program, which features VDO REDI-Sensor multi-application sensors.

Customers and potential users will now be able to use their smart phones to gain more knowledge and information about VDO REDI-Sensor, such as viewing the complete VDO REDI-Sensor demonstration video and directly accessing the REDI-Sensor website. Continental is applying the QR codes to product flyers, packaging and advertising. Future QR applications are currently being developed so customers will be able to connect to other marketing, sales and training programs.

VDO REDI-Sensor sensors represent a significant breakthrough in TPMS service and profitability opportunity, according to Continental. In addition to the broad multi-application coverage, they work with all major scan tools, require no special programming and relearn to the vehicle using the OE process. Therefore, the company explains, VDO REDI-Sensor sensors bring newfound simplicity, ease of installation and better profit potential to TPMS service. These sensors come pre-programmed and have a faster scan tool hunt mode and relearn process than competitive aftermarket sensors, which helps result in a quicker service turnaround, Continental says.
