Continental Dealer Dash Winners Take Home $29,000 In Prizes

The winners received a trip for two to New York City, where they ran like “wild horses” through Continental’s gift warehouse, keeping everything they could grab in 60 seconds. Total, they took home more than $29,000 in prizes.

Continental, one of the largest automotive suppliers and tire manufacturers in the world, held its Dealer Dash for two lucky winners and their guests on June 13-14. The winners received a trip for two to New York City, where they ran like “wild horses” through Continental’s gift warehouse, keeping everything they could grab in 60 seconds. Total, they took home more than $29,000 in prizes.

“The Dealer Dash, and the Horsepower and GOLD programs in general, are all about celebrating the Continental dealer family We want to build and strengthen our relationship with our independent dealers. We are offering programs and support to get them to the next level in their growth,” said Tom Fanning, Continental’s vice president of sales and marketing, Truck Tires North America.

Prizes taken home by the winners included smart TVs, a DSLR camera, 5K computer monitor, iPad and Amazon Fire tablets, smart home accessories such as a Nest thermostat and Ring video doorbell, Apple watches, designer sunglasses, jewelry and home appliances.

The Dash winners were selected based on two Continental programs. The GOLD program for passenger and light truck tire sales had a total of 11,000 qualified entries. The GOLD program rewards participants based on 10% year-over-year growth. It has awarded a Dealer Dash every year since 2012. Eavers Tire Pros was selected in a random drawing. They took home $15,000 in prizes.

This year, the Horsepower program, which rewards dealer salespeople for commercial truck and bus tire sales, also awarded a Dealer Dash.

“This is the first year that the Horsepower program has awarded a Dealer Dash. Continental’s GOLD program for passenger tire has been successfully awarding a warehouse dash for several years. We saw what a great reward it was for a participant and we wanted our hard-working commercial dealer salespeople to have the same opportunity,” said Fanning.

There were 300 Horsepower participants from 69 different dealers who qualified for the Dash. Wayne Winders, an outside sales representative at Industrial Tire Service in Washougal, Washington, was selected in a random drawing. He and his wife Ashley took home $14,000 in prizes.

“I could not believe I was chosen for the Dash,” said Winders. “The best thing about Horsepower is the great incentives and rewards. Everyone from Continental is great and always gives me the tools to be successful.”

When asked why he sells Continental tires, Winders replied, “They are a premium-quality tire that Continental stands behind.” He sells to all types of customers, including industrial, off-road, line haul, regional truck and school bus.

Continental’s wide portfolio of tires and retreads make it possible to fit the needs of many customers and applications. Horsepower participants earn points based on the number of Continental and General Tire commercial tires, as well as ContiPressureCheck TPMS systems, they sell during the year. Including digital tire monitoring solutions as part of the rewards program ensures participants are rewarded for all their sales.

Salespeople interested in participating in the 2019 Horsepower program should speak to their local Continental representative. The drawing for the next Untamed Dealer Dash will be held in March 2020. Entries are based on 2019 full year sales submitted to the Horsepower portal.
