AUSTIN, TEXAS — CARDONE Industries and Activant Solutions are collaborating on a project to maximize the accuracy and speed to market of eCatalog data for CARDONE’s growing line of remanufactured and new automotive replacement parts.

CARDONE, based in Philadelphia, is a leading remanufacturer of automotive replacement components and systems. In June 2004, the company began offering new manufactured components for domestic and import applications.

CARDONE in late 2003 launched an aggressive ‘Rapid Release Program’ designed to ensure best-in-market availability of remanufactured and new components for most popular vehicle models. The company added more than 2,000 part numbers covering 41 product categories in 2004 and worked with Activant to accelerate the delivery of new parts data to the more than 60,000 automotive counter positions equipped with Activant PartExpert, LaserCat, ShopCat, ePartExpert or Catalyst electronic catalogs.

“We have built a very strong and beneficial relationship with the data services team at Activant and have seen significant progress in getting our parts information into the hands of the counterperson in a much more efficient manner,” said CARDONE Industries Catalog Services Manager Milt Grimes. “We’ve combined Activant’s best- practices data management recommendations and a variety of our own internal enhancements to cut our data delivery times from five or six months to 60 days on a consistent basis.”

CARDONE, which had updated parts data on an annual basis prior to the “Rapid Release Program,” now provides extensive updates for each of Activant’s monthly eCatalog releases. In addition, the CARDONE corporate marketing group, headed by Dil Kulathum, communicates with Activant each week to review data validation activities and eliminate potential delays.

“This growing collaboration is the benchmark for our relationships with every aftermarket manufacturer,” said Steve Bieszczat, vice president of information services for Activant. “We’ve come a long way in our ability to address the unique operational needs of each aftermarket supplier while supporting their desire to push information to the OE front lines as quickly as possible.”
