Car Care Council Women’s Board Announces 2004 Post-Secondary Scholarship Recipients

The Car Care Council Women’s Board has announced that Vanessa Cappadona of Florence, Ky., is the recipient of the 2004 Women’s Board $1,000 scholarship. Cappadona will be recognized during the Women’s Board reception on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nev.

BETHESDA, MD — The Car Care Council Women’s Board has announced that Vanessa Cappadona of Florence, Ky., is the recipient of the 2004 Women’s Board $1,000 scholarship. Cappadona will be recognized during the Women’s Board reception on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Women’s Board has also chosen Jennifer Gruel of Cecil, Wis., and Angela Whitmore of Lima, Ohio, as the recipients of the two $500 scholarships.

Scholarship applications were available to women who have completed at least one year in an ASE-certified, post-secondary automobile technology program and plan on entering the automotive field upon graduation.

“We’re thrilled by the number and quality of applications we received. It’s exciting to see the level of interest that all the women expressed with pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket,” said Jennifer Tio, president of the Car Care Council Women’s Board. “I would like to congratulate our winners and thank everyone who made the 2004 Women’s Board scholarships possible, especially our sponsors.”

The 2004 Women’s Board scholarship sponsors are dedicated to recruiting and retaining talented women in the automotive aftermarket industry. Current sponsors include: Jiffy Lube, Tomorrow’s Technician magazine, MACS, Four Seasons, Advanstar Automotive, ACDelco and IAPA.

The scholarship program awards scholarships not only to post-secondary students, but also to high school students who plan on pursuing a career in the automotive field upon graduation.
