Bridgestone HosePower Acquires Cline Hose & Hydraulics

The move is part of HosePower's strategy to expand its hydraulic and industrial hose solutions and service operations.

Bridgestone HosePower, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, has acquired Greenville, South Carolina’s Cline Hose & Hydraulics, LLC, the company announced. This move is part of HosePower’s strategy to expand its hydraulic and industrial hose solutions and service operations.

Tom Henry, president and CEO of Bridgestone HosePower, noted the similarities between the two companies. “Cline Hose & Hydraulics has an exceptional reputation for quality and has a very similar business model as Bridgestone HosePower,” Henry said. “This acquisition expands upon our capabilities while increasing our capacity to service a larger customer base with speed and flexibility.”

Founded in 1948, Cline Hose & Hydraulics is a family-owned business. Over the past 75 years, it has expanded to include two retail locations in Greenville, South Carolina, and Augusta, Georgia, and operates a fleet of mobile service trucks across the Southeast U.S.

Scott Cline, co-owner of Cline Hose & Hydraulics, expressed enthusiasm about joining Bridgestone HosePower. “We are honored to join Bridgestone HosePower, a company we’ve long admired as the leader in our industry,” Cline said. “Bridgestone HosePower shares in our commitment to customer service. For 75 years, our family has taken great pride in exceeding customer expectations. Now, with HosePower, we will be able to serve more businesses, help more people, and provide more opportunities to employees.”

Bridgestone HosePower operates 47 locations in the U.S., including five OEM sales centers. The acquisition, approved by the boards of directors of both companies, was completed on Dec. 29, 2023. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
