NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Americas is reducing production at two Tennessee plants through the end of the year.
The Nashville-based company announced it is cutting 23 production days at its La Vergne, Tenn., facility and 28 production days at its Warren County (Tenn.) Plant.
The move comes in response to weakened demand in North America for OE and certain segments of the replacement passenger, light truck and truck and bus tire markets.
"We are addressing production levels in such a way as to avoid layoffs while adhering to responsible inventory management practices," Bridgestone said in a statement. "The reduction will take different forms, such as reducing daily unit production, curbing or eliminating overtime, or extending shutdown dates." (Courtesy of Tire Review)
