Bosch Announces Wiper Blade IP Settlement With Trico Products

The two companies will acquire licenses for each other's patents as part of the settlement.

BROADVIEW, Ill. – Robert Bosch LLC and Trico Products Corp. have come to an amicable resolution of their pending litigations, according to Bosch.

Bosch has reported that the settlement of the patent litigations involved funds paid by Trico to Bosch in order to acquire appropriate licenses to Bosch patents, and a license to Bosch for appropriate licenses to Trico patents. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

“Bosch is pleased with all the successes we have achieved in recent years to stop infringement of Bosch wiper blade patents,” said Odd Joergenrud, Robert Bosch LLC, regional president, Automotive Aftermarket North America.

The settlement with Trico resolves the latest of some 20 wiper blade patent infringement suits filed by Bosch against a number of companies since 2007. The company says it remains committed to the protection of its intellectual property.
