BorgWarner Doubles Size of Engine Group Plant in Korea

In order to meet increasing demand for engine timing systems, BorgWarner has nearly doubled the size of its Engine Group manufacturing facility in Pyongtaek, South Korea. The 90,000-square-foot plant will manufacture engine timing systems for Hyundai/Kia's family of engines. Annual volumes are expected to reach more than three million engines by 2010.

AUBURN HILLS, MI — In order to meet increasing demand for engine timing systems, BorgWarner has nearly doubled the size of its Engine Group manufacturing facility in Pyongtaek, South Korea. The 90,000-square-foot plant will manufacture engine timing systems for Hyundai/Kia’s family of engines. Annual volumes are expected to reach more than three million engines by 2010.

BorgWarner opened its Engine Group campus in Pyongtaek in 2003 to support the company’s growing business relationship with Hyundai/Kia Motor Co. Today, the campus produces Morse TEC engine timing products as well as Turbo & Emissions Systems turbochargers.
