AWDA Recognizes Industry Achievements

Four individuals whose careers span more than 100 years were honored last week in Las Vegas by the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA): David O'Reilly, chairman, O'Reilly Automotive, Inc.; Lawrence Sills, chairman and CEO of Standard Motor Products; Timothy Lee, AAP, chairman of L-C Enterprises, LLC; and Jerry McCabe of Affinia Group.

BETHESDA, MD — Four individuals whose careers span more than 100 years were honored last week in Las Vegas by the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA): David O’Reilly, chairman, O’Reilly Automotive, Inc.; Lawrence Sills, chairman and CEO of Standard Motor Products; Timothy Lee, AAP, chairman of L-C Enterprises, LLC; and Jerry McCabe of Affinia Group.

O’Reilly was awarded the Martin Fromm Lifetime Achievement Award by AWDA at its 2005 Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The award recognizes individuals who have, over the course of many years, distinguished themselves through their commitment to, and high level of performance within, the motor vehicle aftermarket industry.

Sills was presented the 2005 Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Award. He was also honored during AWDA’s annual conference in Las Vegas. The Art Fisher Memorial Scholarship Award is presented annually to an aftermarket company or individual that demonstrates outstanding commitment to education and training. Given in memory of former AWDA Chairman Art Fisher, the award grants substantial scholarships to two students enrolled in the automotive aftermarket management program at Northwood University.

Lee was named the 2005 recipient of th AWDA Leader of the Year Award. Each year, the AWDA bestows this award upon an aftermarket professional who has contributed to the industry in a unique and significant manner.

McCabe was awarded the 2005 Pursuit of Excellence Award on Oct. 30. The Pursuit of Excellence Award is presented annually to a member of AWDA, in recognition of excellence in business performance. The award was established in 1983 to recognize those who support AWDA and its ideals in an outstanding fashion.
