Automotive Lift Institute Leader to Retire

E.K. "Chic" Fox has spent a lifetime helping small manufacturing trade groups. At a recent meeting, Fox announced he plans to retire from his post as president and CEO of the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), a relationship that began in 1962.

INDIALANTIC, FL — E.K. “Chic” Fox has spent a lifetime helping small manufacturing trade groups. His relationship with the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI), the association representing automotive lift manufacturers, began in 1962 when he joined the management firm of ALI’s founder David Laine.

Fox’s initial apprenticeship in 1962 began a 40-year career in association management in a variety of industries. Throughout his career however, he remained CEO of ALI.

At a recent meeting, Fox announced he plans to retire from his post as ALI’s president and CEO. Fox said he will remain CEO until a successor is named, and will continue to serve as a consultant thereafter. His full retirement is planned for 2006.
