Automechanika Canada Features Seminars and Workshop Programs with Industry Experts

Automechanika Canada, held Sept. 26–28 at the International Centre in Toronto, ON, is committed to providing industry professionals with quality training and education to better their businesses and to remain competitive in the marketplace.

In addition to hundreds of products from Canada, the U.S. and around the world, Automechanika Canada has confirmed 13 seminar sessions and three workshops to be presented by renowned speakers and field experts. The Seminar & Workshop Program includes a wide array of topics and valuable training for all industry professionals. The Seminar & Workshop Program will be held in conjunction with the trade show at the International Centre and will focus on key industry issues in the Canadian marketplace.

“Our goal is to become the industry forum for education, discussions, learning and sharing of knowledge and opinions,“ said Carol Bell-LeNoury, general manager of Business Information Group.

A few topics and speakers include, “Greening of the Aftermarket Industry” presented by Dennis DesRosiers, “Hybrid Technology” presented by Craig Van Battenberg, and “Alternative Fuels” presented by Alex Drohomyresky of Shell. In addition, Paul DeGuiseppi with the Mobile Air Conditioning Society will present “MACS Worldwide’s Best Service Practices,” and Mike Cleary will instruct professionals on electronic engine control and Ford 6.0L D.I.T. diesel, powerstroke troubleshooting. Also, Jim Moore from Delphi will give a presention on oxygen sensor monitors.

The keynote presenter is Dave Meunier from Total Automotive Consulting & Training based in Calgary, Alberta. Meunier will present, “The Entrepreneurial Dream – Business Management Systems and Procedures that will Profit your Business,” on Sept. 26. This complimentary keynote session will focus on how to help make shops and businesses more successful by using proven management systems and procedures to increase profitability.

The Automotive Parts and Remanufacturers Association (APRA) is sponsoring several sessions and workshops at this year’s event. Mohommad Samii, APRA’s coordinator of electrical training, will present two three-hour workshops on charging and starting systems. Jasper Engines & Transmissions will also hold two seminar sessions on transmission and engine diagnosis presented by its national technical trainer, Jim Davenport.

The Ontario Tire Dealers Association (OTDA) is also presenting several seminar sessions with key speakers including Paul Hyatt from the Tire Industry Association. Topics include Right to Repair, TPMS and nitrogen tire inflation.

Automechanika Canada is also hosting The National Collision Repair Workshops on Sept. 27 at the International Centre. These workshops focus on successful alternative profitability models for collision repair in Canada. For more information, visit: www.ciia.com.
