AKRON, OHIO— Wholesale distributor Atech Motorsports will display Blue Moon Motorsports’ $25,000 Challenge car in its booth (#28023) at SEMA’s annual trade show Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in Las Vegas.
Blue Moon’s $25,000 Challenge vehicle, a 1957 Ford Courier Sedan Delivery making its public debut at the SEMA show, is one of four vehicles being built by the country’s top builders to the rules of The $25,000 Challenge, a rigorous competition to design and construct a trick, show-quality ride for no more than $25,000, including the cost of the car.
“Through this project, we are developing new opportunities for our partners and ourselves,” said Blue Moon Motorsports president Al Kamhi. “Our ’57 Ford Courier exemplifies the new generation of high-quality bolt-on suspension systems that the average enthusiast can purchase without breaking the bank.”
The Ford Courier, which was built with many parts sourced from Atech Motorsports, features a distinctive two-tone body with period trim and aggressive lines. A Ford 427 side oiler pumping out 525 horsepower provides motivation, with a modified C6 transmission sending power through a Ford 9″ rear differential. Control Freak Suspensions race-bred, bolt-in tubular control arm suspension system tames the handling and four-wheel disc brakes from Stainless Steel Brakes bring the car to a halt. Rolling stock consists of a set of forged aluminum Oasis “Retro” wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tires.
