WASHINGTON — On April 13, the Judiciary committee in the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 32, the Stop Counterfeiting in Manufactured Goods Act.
Passage by the Committee was a critical step toward a vote and expected passage by the House of Representatives, according to the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). The Stop Counterfeiting in Manufactured Goods Act, which has been strongly supported by MEMA and other manufacturing groups, will increase Federal Government seizure authority against counterfeiters and will help U.S. officials build stronger trademark protections into free trade agreements.
MEMA said it will lobby Congress to schedule a vote on H.R. 32 as soon as possible.
