AMRA Board For 2012-13 Introduced

Board members are elected to a two-year term, with the group staggered so the full board is not up for re-election in a given year.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — The Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) has announced the 12 members of its Board of Directors for 2012-13. The group was originally introduced at the Annual Membership Meeting for AMRA and the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Oct. 29.

The installation of the new board members was approved by the AMRA membership during the general business portion of the meeting. Board members are elected to a two-year term, with the group staggered so the full Board is not up for re-election in a given year.

Former board member Joseph M. Henmueller resigned as he was hired recently as director, administration for the AMRA staff. Henmueller’s former position on the board will remain open while a replacement is determined.

No new members joined the AMRA Board of Directors as those eligible for re-election were all approved. Receiving new two-year terms (running through October 2014) were Chuck Abbott (Director, Business Development at UView), Ricky Jackson (Data Assurance Specialist at Jiffy Lube International), Jerry Lott (Director, Consumer Affairs & Government Relations at Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC), Richard Schossler (National Manager, Service Sales at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.) and Al Wheeler (Vice President, Strategic Markets at CARQUEST Corporation). Richard Laimbeer, an automotive industry consultant, also was reappointed by the board as the chairman of the MAP Advisory Council and to a position on the AMRA Board.

Lynn Parker (Sr. Vice President, Purchasing at TBC Retail Group) was selected to replace Schossler as the vice chairman of the Board. Parker returned to the AMRA Board in 2011-12 after previously serving as a director from 2003-05.
