CHARLOTTE, NC — American Tire Distributors (ATD) has reached an agreement to acquire the wholesale distribution centers of Martino Tire, further enhancing ATD’s service to tire retailers across the state of Florida.

Martino Tire operated five wholesale distribution centers, 27 retail stores and two commercial centers. American Tire Distributors’ purchase only includes the five distribution centers, maintaining the company’s commitment to operate no retail locations, so as not to compete with the independent tire dealer. The five acquired distribution centers are located in Miami, Pompano, Ft. Myers, Tampa, and Daytona, FL. These distribution centers currently service more than 3,000 customers in the state.

Martino Tire was founded by Sal and Andy Martino in 1959 in Miami. The company began as a retail operation, but expanded into wholesale distribution over time. By 1996, Martino Tire operated six wholesale distribution centers across Florida. Martino closed the Tallahassee operation in 2006, reducing to five the number of centers currently operating in the state.
