American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists to Participate in HDAW

ORLAND PARK, IL — The American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists (ACOFAS) has announced it will join the growing list of leading heavy duty industry aftermarket groups sponsoring the second annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW), set for Jan. 22-25, 2007, at the Mirage in Las Vegas.

ACOFAS was established by shop owners and managers in February 2006 to provide quality training programs for technicians. The training clinics have covered topics such as total chassis alignment, axle straightening and power steering and frame diagnostics. ACOFAS has received acclaim for its training techniques featuring hands-on demonstrations in the classroom and in-shop. The organization will hold its executive board meeting in conjunction with HDAW and will have a booth in the products expo to showcase its technician training program.

“Our members are excited to be part of this cooperative effort,” said Gordon Botts, ACOFAS media relations chairman. “Our more than 50 members and hundreds of associate members promote North American-made automotive and heavy duty parts and products, and the manufacturers of the products. HDAW is an excellent opportunity to establish global heavy duty aftermarket contacts and learn about the products to bring the knowledge back to the technicians.”

ACOFAS joins a growing list of organizations sponsoring HDAW, including Heavy Duty America, Heavy Duty Remanufacturers Group (HDRG), International Truck Parts Association (ITPA), Overseas Automotive Council (OAC), Power Heavy Duty, Service Specialists Association (SSA) and TruckPride.

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week 2006 drew 1,837 attendees to hear presentations by industry leaders, educators and analysts, participate in one-on-one meetings, and view the latest products and services in the sold-out product exhibition. The attendance made the event the largest gathering of distributors and suppliers in one setting over the last 20 years.
