Forsaking that country’s Right to Repair efforts, the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) has signed on to the Canadian Automotive Service Information Standard (CASIS), the voluntary agreement that is intended to guarantee access to automaker service information in Canada.
The CASIS agreement is supported by the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association (CVMA), the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers of Canada (AIAMC) and the National Automotive Trades Association (NATA). The agreement ensures “the automotive aftermarket has access to emission and non-emission related service information, diagnostic tools and training information from all vehicle manufacturers in Canada,” CASIS said.
“We are very pleased to be working side by side with the CVMA, AIAMC and NATA for the benefit of the entire automotive industry. This is a great day for AIA members and their customers across Canada,” said AIA Canada president Marc Brazeau.
