OROVILLE, CA — AFC Finishing Systems, a manufacturer of spray booths and finishing equipment, has partnered with Chip Foose and Foose Design on the installation of an AFC Quadraft Spray Booth in Foose’s Huntington Beach, Calif., facility. The AFC Quadraft Spray Booth will provide Foose Design with the ability to paint on premises.
Founded in 1998, Foose Design is an automotive and product development company directed by legendary designer and fabricator Chip Foose. Headquartered in Huntington Beach, Calif., the company specializes in illustration, graphics, ideation model making, surfacing and the complete construction of automobiles and automobile-related products, including its unique line of Foose Design wheels. Its products and creative services are available to private individuals, television and film companies and automotive manufacturers. Chip Foose and his Foose Design team can be seen on the popular new Discovery Channel series Overhaulin’ and Rides that airs weekly on TLC.
The Quadraft Spray Booth was initially installed during the November 2004 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Quadraft was used for an episode of TLC’s Overhaulin’ that aired on December 14, 2004. After the completion of filming, the Quadraft was disassembled and delivered to Foose Design where it will be used by Chip Foose and his team for future projects.
The Quadraft by AFC is setting the pace in the industry in functionality and design. The Quadraft utilizes four exhaust fans and a proprietary basement design, which creates four independent quadrants and a completely turbulent free painting environment. According to the company, the design increases productivity by giving the painter the ability to paint four parts four different colors inside the Quadraft at the same time, without overspray contamination between parts.
