Activant Aims to Help AAPEX Attendees ‘Turn Small Change Into Big Bucks’

Company's aftermarket specialists will be on hand at AAPEX to help distributors, jobbers find proven ways to increase business profitability.

LIVERMORE, Calif. – An independent jobber quickly increases its monthly gross profit by four points. A leading distributor is now shipping more parts each day with six fewer warehouse employees. And the owner of a large parts store and service center has been able to eliminate 16 hours of monthly copying, mailing and filing.

Each of these recent customer successes – and the opportunity for other WDs and jobbers to achieve similar results – will be the focus of Activant Solutions Inc.’s exhibit at the 2010 AAPEX Show, November 2-4, in Las Vegas.

Activant will demonstrate how several aftermarket businesses have been able to “Turn Small Change Into Big Bucks” through the application of a variety of proven technologies. The company’s aftermarket specialists will offer free consultations throughout the show to business owners and managers who want to dramatically improve their own operational performance.

“Often a single process change or increased access to critical information can drive significant bottom-line improvements for an aftermarket business. Our team will be available to help any business owner find ways to increase their efficiency and profitability through the use of a variety of software solutions,” said Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president, Activant.

Among the customer successes to be featured in the Activant exhibit (#2035) are New Jersey Auto Parts’ 4-percent jump in gross profit following implementation of the Activant Eagle business management system, and Automotive Supply Associates/Sanel Auto Parts’ ability to dramatically increase warehouse productivity and accuracy through the Activant Vision solution.

“We saw an almost immediate gain in gross profit; the Activant Eagle system was an excellent investment that has helped us in almost every area of our business,” said Roger Tapanes Jr., president of New Jersey Auto Parts, Miami, Fla.

In addition to business management systems, Activant’s aftermarket specialists will be able to help customers explore the financial benefits of add-on software such as the Activant WebDocs electronic document management, Activant Dispatch and Delivery System, and LaserCat 3 eCatalog solutions.

“There are dozens of opportunities for almost any distributor or jobber to turn even a modest investment in technology into sizeable gains in sales, gross profit, inventory efficiency and other business metrics,” Salsgiver said. “The first step is identifying the challenges you’re facing. We’ll help any aftermarket business owner tackle that step and then develop a plan to address the problem.”
