AASA and the University of the Aftermarket To Develop Supply Chain Management Program

The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has joined with the University of the Aftermarket to develop and promote a new supply chain management certification program. The supply chain management program is designed for aftermarket professionals involved in sales forecasting, purchasing, procurement, transportation, logistics, warehousing, production and materials control.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has joined with the University of the Aftermarket to develop and promote a new supply chain management certification program.

The supply chain management program is designed for aftermarket professionals involved in sales forecasting, purchasing, procurement, transportation, logistics, warehousing, production and materials control. Participants can earn AAP or MAAP certification in the new supply chain management certification.

“In today’s business environment, our members must work constantly toward leaner operations,” said Paul Foley, vice president of AASA, the aftermarket segment association of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). “We believe aftermarket suppliers can see significant benefits through a thorough knowledge of supply chain management strategies and techniques, so we have worked closely with the University on this new curriculum.”

The first of two seminars in the program – “Developing a Supply Chain Strategy” – is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 24-25, and is hosted by Delphi Automotive Systems, Troy, Mich. Participants will learn about developing a supply chain strategy, and designing and managing the supply chain.

A second seminar, “How to Redesign Supply Chains,” is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 1-2, in Troy, Mich.

The first two courses are worth 1.2 CEUs each.
