AAPEX Booth Selection Process Underway After Record Number of Companies Participate in Online Selection Order Drawing

A record 1,744 companies participated in a drawing to determine the booth selection order for the 2006 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX). The drawing determined the selection order for the online booth selection process which began April 3. AAPEX will take place Tuesday, Oct. 31, through Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. The 2006 show promises to be a record-setting event with 470,000-net-square-feet of space sold to date. Due to heavy demand for exhibit space for the 2006 show, AAPEX exhibits this year will occupy the entire Venetian Ballroom as well.

ORLAND PARK, IL — A record 1,744 companies participated in a drawing to determine the booth selection order for the 2006 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX).

Booth selection order was based on seniority and membership status. The drawing took place at W.T. Glasgow Inc. in Orland Park, IL, under the supervision of the auditing firm Levinson, Simon & Sprung. All companies who submitted their contracts by the deadline date qualified to participate in the drawing.

“The online booth selection process will begin with peninsulas and islands of all members of the co-sponsoring associations – the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) – and then non-members of this booth size,” said AAPEX Show Manager Bill Glasgow Sr. The drawing then progresses to the selection of the standard/linear booths of AAIA and MEMA members, followed by the selection of the standard/linear booths of non-members, according to Glasgow.

How the 2006 AAPEX Online Space Selection will work: A current floor plan will be posted online at www.aapexshow.com and will be updated after every booth selection to indicate the current available and reserved booth space. Companies are encouraged to view the updated floor plan and witness the booth selection process prior to their selected time to help make their selection process easier.

At a company’s assigned time, AAPEX Show Management will call the designated company contact via telephone for its booth selection. Each company will have five minutes to select a booth. After five minutes, the computer will automatically go to the next company to select. If a selection has not been made within the five minutes, the company will have missed its opportunity to choose a booth location and will be assigned the best available space by Show Management.
