AAM Names Supplier Of The Year And Supplier Excellence Winners

The awards were presented to key supplier partners at AAM’s 26th Annual Supplier Day, held virtually from Detroit.

American Axle & Manufacturing presented its Supplier of the Year and Supplier Excellence Awards to key supplier partners at its 26th Annual Supplier Day, held virtually from Detroit.

Two Supplier of the Year Awards were presented during the event. SKF, a direct material component supplier of bearings and sealing solutions, was awarded for continued and consistent exceptional performance. The SKF team proactively approaches AAM with new opportunities that create win/win outcomes and engages openly and competitively on new technology. 

Electrical Equipment component supplier, Ingenieria Y Abastecimiento SA DE CV (INASA) is an AAM essential business partner that integrates in-house solutions to handle inventory; provides technical support and collaborates to manage costs. 

“All of our supplier partners are integral to AAM’s success in meeting and exceeding the demanding requirements of our global customer base,” said Michael K. Simonte, AAM president. “We are very pleased to recognize SKF, INASA and all of our 2020 Excellence Award winners for their outstanding partnership and congratulate these innovative suppliers for providing top-notch customer support while delivering excellent quality and delivery performance at a competitive cost.”

In addition, 11 suppliers also were honored with the AAM Supplier Excellence Award for their demonstrated success in delivery, quality, launch or innovation. Awardees include:

AAM has recognized exceptional suppliers each year since its founding in 1994. A team of AAM associates from global procurement, product engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing and supply chain management selected this year’s award winners based on AAM’s rating of its suppliers’ delivery performance, product quality, launch execution, and technology leadership.
