Presenters Finalized for April ‘Aftermarket 101’ Seminar in Southfield, Mich.

Registration is now open for this industry overview session for aftermarket newcomers presented by the University of the Aftermarket.

MIDLAND, Mich. – Several aftermarket industry leaders will be featured speakers during the April 26-27 session of the University of the Aftermarket’s “Aftermarket 101”seminar at Federal-Mogul Corp. global headquarters in Southfield, Mich.
 
According to the University of the Aftermarket, this seminar is an ideal learning opportunity for any professional who is relatively new to the aftermarket or whose increased responsibilities require a greater understanding of the industry’s structure, business trends and key competitive issues.
 
Presenters during this intensive day-and-a-half seminar will be:

  • Dr. Keith Pretty, president and CEO, Northwood University
  • Robert Egan, MAAP, vice president, customer relations, Federal-Mogul Global Aftermarket
  • Rick Guirlinger, MAAP, Bourke Consulting, LLC
  • Kathleen Schmatz, MAAP, president and CEO, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association
  • Jay Burkhart, senior vice president, Federal-Mogul Global Aftermarket
  • Brian Cruickshank, MAAP, director, University of the Aftermarket 

Aftermarket 101 topics include “Industry Basics & Structure,” “History of the Aftermarket,” “State of the Industry,” “Channels of Distribution” and “The Global Aftermarket.” The program also will feature a panel discussion of industry issues and a tour of the Auto-Wares distribution facility in Livonia, Mich.
 
“Aftermarket 101 is an excellent way for industry newcomers and others to quickly become familiar with the structure and unique needs, challenges and opportunities associated with this dynamic industry,” Cruickshank said. “We thank Federal-Mogul for generously offering us their learning facilities and the University of the Aftermarket Foundation for helping to support this important program.”
 
Participants in Aftermarket 101 will earn 1.0 continuing education unit that can be applied toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) and Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.
