PPG Introduces Coatings Brochure for Auto Parts and Accessories

Known for providing clearcoats, mar-resistant paints and other exterior finishes to both automotive manufacturers and collision shops, PPG also manufactures an array of coatings for auto parts and components.

PITTSBURGH – PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has published a new brochure highlighting its full line of coatings and pre-treatment products for automotive parts and accessories.

Known for providing clearcoats, mar-resistant paints and other exterior finishes to both automotive manufacturers and collision shops, PPG also manufactures an array of coatings for auto parts and components. Metal and fiberglass bumper systems, rigid exterior and interior trim parts, dashboards, pulleys, hinges, motor mounts, brake hardware, chassis and suspension parts, and many additional underhood components are protected by PPG coatings products.

PPG offers a single-source supplier solution as a manufacturer of pretreatment and engineered products, epoxy and acrylic electrocoat coatings, liquid primers and topcoats and powder coatings for use throughout the production process. Many brands detailed in the new booklet, such as SPECTRACRON liquid coatings, POWERCRON e-coats and ENVIROCRON powder coatings, have been trusted for decades by automotive manufacturers, the company says. Additionally, PPG states that it is a pioneer in the development of advanced pretreatment products that inhibit corrosion of automotive components, such as ZIRCOBOND pretreatment, which offers a “greener” alternative to older technologies.

In addition to highlighting more than a dozen coatings and pre-treatment products, the brochure describes the benefits of working with PPG’s global network of paint application experts, product development specialists and technical support personnel.
