NAGOYA, Japan — NGK Spark Plug Co. Ltd. was named a recipient of the 2010 VOLVO Supplier Award. The award ceremony was held this summer in Shanghai.
 
Seven suppliers out of a possible 1,500 were awarded this honor. Suppliers were evaluated according to their Premium Supplier criteria. Such criterion consists of building a strong relationship, quality, safety, environment, corporate social responsibility, cost, project and deliveries. In addition, the suppliers’ capacity to work with the Volvo 3P teams in the spirit of continuous improvement was also considered.
 
“We are deeply honored to receive the 2010 Volvo supplier award. We will continue to focus on Quality Cost Delivery improvements that will help us to build a stronger relationship with Volvo,” said Mr. Nobuyuki Tokioka, president of NGK Spark Plug (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.
