Experian to Present e-Tailing Study Results at MEMA Technology Council Fall Conference

The Experian presentation, "e-Tailing: A Growing Channel," is one of the keynote addresses slated for this year's MTC Fall Conference, which takes place Sunday, Oct. 16, through Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Marco Island Marriott, Marco Island, Fla.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Experian Automotive will present the results of its ongoing research into the growing automotive aftermarket e-tailing segment, conducted in partnership with the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), at the 2011 Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Technology Council (MTC) Fall Conference.

The Experian presentation, “e-Tailing: A Growing Channel,” is one of the keynote addresses slated for this year’s MTC Fall Conference, which takes place Sunday, Oct. 16, through Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Marco Island Marriott, Marco Island, Fla.

“MTC members requested more information about this extremely relevant topic following the highly successful e-tailing panel discussions at the AASA Executive Breakfast during AAPEX 2010 and the 2011 AASA Vision Conference (VisCon),” said Chris Gardner, vice president, programs and member services, AASA. "Therefore, the MTC board of governors decided to undertake a research study with Experian to identify challenges and opportunities associated with the e-Tailing segment."

"This ongoing research project will create valuable insights into the rapidly developing aftermarket e-Tailing segment,” said James Maguire, senior director of Experian Automotive. "Working in conjunction with AASA and the MTC, Experian Automotive is glad to leverage its significant analytic and data resources to provide suppliers with information that enables them to develop more efficient strategies of penetrating this growing online channel."

Experian Automotive’s presentation will include detailed information on consumers who are researching and purchasing automotive parts and services online, and also will provide an overview of where consumers are venturing on their path to aftermarket e-tailers. These details will help manufacturers, warehouse distributors and retailers make more informed decisions regarding their approach to online sales, distribution and branding.

In addition to “e-Tailing: A Growing Channel,” other conference highlights will include:

• Keynote – Aftermarket 2020 & Technology Implications – Steve Handschuh, president & COO, AASA
• Member Spotlight – Delphi Product Service & Solutions
• Facilitated Work Session for Manufacturers Only – McGladrey
