MEMA Technology Council Fall Conference to Feature Session with Former CARQUEST President Robert Blair

Blair to discuss "A New Way for Technology Executives to Prepare for Tomorrow" in interactive session.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Robert Blair, founder of The Grandborough Partnership II and former president of CARQUEST, will present “A New Way for Technology Executives to Prepare for Tomorrow” on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the 2011 Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Technology Council (MTC) Fall Conference at the Marco Island Marriott, Marco Island, Fla.

“The goal is to ensure attendees avoid passivity or complacency about the future’s speed of change,” said Blair. “Attendee assumptions, concepts, values and practices will be challenged through thought-provoking methods. This will help everyone grasp why tomorrow will not be the same as yesterday.”

“This very interactive session will help technology professionals better prepare for tomorrow’s ever-changing landscape and its technology shifts, trends and challenges,” commented Chris Gardner, MTC group executive and vice president, programs and member services, for the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA). “It is part of the MTC Board’s intentional efforts to help members become more strategic in their jobs.”

With the theme of “Strategy Over Tactical = Success,” the MTC Fall Conference – slated for Sunday, Oct. 16 to Wednesday, Oct. 19 – will feature presentations and sessions including:

• Keynote – Aftermarket Outlook 2020 & Technology Implications – Steve Handschuh, president & COO, AASA
• Member Spotlight – Delphi Product Service & Solutions
• Agile Development – PricewaterhouseCoopers
• Product Data Management Training – Automotive Distribution Network
• Utilizing Technology Trends to Align Strategies – Gartner Group
• Customer presentations – Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, SEMA and Parts Authority
