Red Line Oil Releases New Oil Application Guide

New web-based application guide on RedLineOil.com features more than 200,000 applications for lubricants for engines, transmissions, differentials and more.

BENICIA, Calif. – After several years of building a vehicle database, Red Line Synthetic Oil Corp. recently debuted its new online application guide at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The new guide features more 200,000 North American vehicle applications. Users simply plug in a car or truck’s year, make and model and the tool recommends the best Red Line products for each application.

“Many enthusiasts and technicians know that Red Line has the best variety of product for their application, but some don’t know which of our products to use,” said Red Line Director of Sales and Marketing Cameron Evans. “This online guide is easy to use, detailing the exact products to protect and perform in their vehicle. Comparing the OEM data and building our database has been a massive project, but we are adding even more vehicles and refining the detailed info daily. Special thanks to Gigi Ho and her team at Digital Performance for their SPEEDcat and SPEEDgate data cataloging tools, as well as to Cie Studios, that develops and maintains our website. They helped us to make this a reality.”

Users select the vehicle’s year, make, model, engine and transmission to display results for Red Line motor oil, ATF, manual transmission gear oil, differential gear oil, as well as fuel additive and coolant additives.

Red Line said it is dedicated to broadening this database, including applications for older vehicles back to the 1950s. The company plans to add 4WD and AWD transfer case and front differential applications, as well as powersports and international automotive applications. The database is based upon the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) Vehicle Configuration database (VCdb) and built to the ACES vehicle catalog standard.

To try the tool, go to RedLineOil.com and click the “Application Guide” tab.
