SKF Now Offers Complete Line of Timing Belt Kits

Company says new line of timing belt kits offers more than 90 percent coverage.

ELGIN, Ill. – SKF has announced it now offers a complete line of timing belt kits, available with and without water pumps. Each kit comes with the necessary components to complete a timing belt installation, including belts, tensioners, idlers, camshaft seal, timing cover seal and detailed instruction sheets. SKF says it is the only manufacturer providing camshaft and timing cover seals in every kit.

With more than 200 part numbers, the complete line of SKF Timing Belt Kits provides more than 90 percent market coverage, according to the company. Each kit is packaged in one carton with one part number, designed to eliminate mistakes in supplying incorrect parts and create ease in stocking of the product.

“SKF’s complete line of timing belt kits complements our overall product offering, providing technicians with another kit option for a simple, easy installation process,” said Jim Lackowski, product manager, SKF. “With 90 percent market coverage for US, European and Asian models, SKF is a single source for timing belt replacement products.”

The company adds that the belts in each SKF timing belt kit are manufactured to withstand the demanding conditions of today’s vehicles. Premium quality water pumps are included in SKF kits where the water pump is integral to the timing system. Every pump has factory ground lubricated bearings with unitized seals to provide maximum life and performance as well as OE fit for fast and easy installation. Additionally, each SKF timing belt kit contains all the seals needed for a complete timing system repair.

An application catalog also is available, providing helpful information on timing belt removal and installation, trouble shooting and failure analysis, best practices and vehicle specific installation tech tips.
