New Series of Videos from Stoptech Tackles Common Aftermarket Brake Questions

The videos are designed to assist consumers in making informed purchase decisions as well as help retailers, installers, distributors and sales forces direct consumers to the right type of brake solutions for their particular vehicles and driving situations.

LOS ANGELES – StopTech, the ultra-performance division of Centric Parts, is rolling out a free series of short "Brake Decisions" videos that aim to answer the most common aftermarket brake upgrade questions. The videos are designed to assist consumers in making informed purchase decisions as well as help retailers, installers, distributors and sales forces direct consumers to the right type of brake solutions for their particular vehicles and driving situations.

"With so many types of calipers, pads, rotors, vehicles and driver needs, it is too easy without the right information to have a customer drive away with the wrong combination of aftermarket brake products," said Dan Lelchuk, president of Centric Parts. "Brake components that are improperly matched to the vehicle and driving profile are a no-win situation for everyone, especially the consumer, even if the brakes are top quality."

Lelchuk takes that point seriously as Centric Parts’ helmsman behind the company’s “Right Part, Right Place, Right Time” mantra, the company says.

The first round of videos address what Centric believes to be three typical purchase decisions faced by drivers interested in aftermarket brake upgrades. One tackles the topic of drilled versus slotted brake rotors by highlighting the situations and vehicles each works best with. Another discusses what type of brake upgrades are best for getting the most stopping power out of performance vehicles on the track, using the StopTech Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car as a real life example. A third video explores brake upgrade options for street performance vehicles, as illustrated by the tale of a Nissan 350Z in need of better brakes.

Future "Brake Decisions" installments will address the questions surrounding the bed-in of newly purchased brake pads, bringing trucks to a stop and getting smooth deceleration from luxury rides. Each video runs around a minute and provides information helpful no matter what brake brand purchase is being considered, the company noted, framed against product options from the Centric Parts family, which includes StopTech and Power Slot.

The videos are currently featured at www.YouTube.com/CentricParts, where they join a growing library of lifestyle videos and recaps of prior SEMA/AAPEX events. The "Brake Decisions" videos can also be found across the many Centric Parts digital assets including the company website (www.CentricParts.com), blogs (www.theBrakeRoom.com / www.StopTechBlog.com), and Facebook page (/StopTech).
