Polk Announces 2010 Inventory Efficiency Award Winner

The Polk Inventory Efficiency Award recognizes and rewards outstanding aftermarket companies for process improvements relative to inventory efficiency. Tenneco received the honor for its InVision inventory analysis and optimization solution.

CHICAGO – Tenneco was awarded the Polk Inventory Efficiency Award Tuesday during the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium in Chicago. The Polk Inventory Efficiency Award recognizes and rewards outstanding aftermarket companies for process improvements relative to inventory efficiency.

Tenneco was recognized for the development and implementation of its inventory analysis and optimization solution called InVision. With this solution, Tenneco was able to automate the stock adjustment process by utilizing sales intelligence and developing a much more efficient process for responding to lost sales opportunities and recapturing sales. InVision, which is fully automated and leveraged across the entire organization, has increased sales force productivity; increased sales by 39 percent in one product category alone; and reduced inventory across the distribution channel, according to Tenneco.

The award was accepted by Susan Ulrey, executive director of sales operations and customer service for Tenneco, and T.J. Fontana, product manager.

Commenting on the award, Joe Pomaranski, vice president of sales, North American Aftermarket, noted, “Our achievement is the result of the dedicated efforts of our team and the innovative programs we have developed to generate highly-effective inventory efficiency.”

The award was presented by Mark Seng, vice president, aftermarket sales and client services, and Kendra Rawls, senior vice president, sales and marketing, of Polk.

“Congratulations to Tenneco for wining this year’s Polk Inventory Efficiency Award,” said Seng. “It’s an honor to have Tenneco join a long list of exceptional companies who are driving industry-leading inventory management practices within the aftermarket.”

This year, the award committee selected one instead of two recipients. The award selection committee is comprised of industry leaders. Submissions are anonymous, and companies are rated on agreed-upon criteria.
