Hankook Tire Opens 8th Distribution Center in North America

Second distribution center in Canada to support strong regional growth.

WAYNE, N.J. – Hankook Tire subsidiary Hankook Tire Canada Corp. officially opened its second Canadian distribution center in Richmond, British Columbia, this month.

Hankook Tire now has eight distribution centers serving North America. The new distribution center will support retailers and multiple distribution points in western Canada.

“Hankook Tire has experienced great success and a strong presence in western Canada,” said Bill Hume, vice president of Hankook Tire Canada. "We strategically chose the Vancouver region for our second distribution center to better support our retail customers and distributors, expediting our time to market. This new distribution center is an integral part of our growth strategy in Canada and part of our global long-term strategy to become a leading, next-generation tire company.”

The distribution center will provide dealers with easy access to a complete line of Hankook products, including ultra-high performance, passenger car, light truck and medium truck tires. The facility is expected to significantly reduce lead time for product delivery as the result of a competitive shipping policy, which includes pre-paid delivery of qualified orders to direct-account customers.

The Richmond-based distribution center is the second expansion of Hankook Tire Canada in the past two years. The Canadian head office in Brampton, which also consists of a state-of-the-art distribution center, opened in the spring of 2009.
